You can squeeze a lemon or place a lemon peel at the place from where the ants enter your house. The smell of lemon is unbearable for the ants, so they will keep away. You can also add a little lemon juice to the water and wash the floor with it. Anything sour and bitter will keep the ants away but remember that sugar is an ant’s best friend. Make sure that you do not keep anything sweet outside which may attract the ant. 

Salt is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get rid of ants. Spreading salt on the corners of the area from where the ants occur may help keep ants away. Do not use health-boosting rock salt; instead, use table salt to keep them away. An easy way is to boil water and put a large amount of salt in it, mixing until it dissolves. Pour it into the spray bottle and spray wherever you see the ants. 

Ants cannot bear and hate the smell of white vinegar. To prepare a solution:

Peppermint can help get rid of ants as it is an insect repellent. Ants avoid the area containing traces of peppermint as they do not like its smell. Peppermint has a powerful fragrance that ants cannot resist. To prepare a mixture, add ten drops of essential oil and a cup of water in it, sprinkle the mixture wherever you see the ants.
